Congratulations to Doug Park on Receiving the 2020 Oregon Women Lawyers Roberts & Deiz Award!

OAPABA is proud to celebrate this year’s recipient of the OWLS Roberts & Deiz Award, Doug Park, University of Oregon’s Deputy General Counsel. The Roberts & Deiz Award honors the legacies of both Justice Betty Roberts and Judge Mercedes Deiz as mentors and promoters of those outside the dominant culture.

Doug is a leader and a trailblazer, serving as the first Asian Pacific American Deputy General Counsel and Interim General Counsel at University of Oregon. In this position, Doug uses his position of power to advance women and people of color both within the General Counsel’s office and as outside counsel to represent the University of Oregon in legal matters. Before joining the General Counsel’s office, Doug worked at the Oregon Department of Justice. While at the DOJ, Doug received the Outstanding Achievement Award (DOJ’s highest professional honor). Doug also directly supports OAPABA by hosting the annual OAPABA Eugene Summer Picnic, giving law students and attorneys of color the opportunity to meet and develop their professional network.

Doug will be recognized at the 28th OWLS Roberts & Deiz Awards Dinner, held on Friday, March 13, 2020, at the Portland Art Museum. We encourage our members to join us at the OWLS dinner to support Doug on his well-deserved win!
