Board of Directors: Terms and Regions

Director Eligibility

All directors (except the law student representative) must be an attorney in good standing, licensed to practice law in any state.

The President, the President-Elect, the Treasurer, the Secretary and the at-large representatives must be a resident of any Oregon county.

The law student representatives must be enrolled as full-time students at an Oregon law school.

Each regional representative must reside or work in one of the Oregon counties included in that region.

If no representative is elected to a region, that position will default to an at-large position.

Director Terms and Limits

The President-Elect, Treasurer and Secretary shall be elected annually.

Regional and at-large representatives will be elected to serve for a term of two (2) years. The terms of such directors shall be staggered so that the regional representatives and at-large representatives are elected by the members in alternating years.

The law student representative shall be elected annually.

A director may be re-elected without limitation on the number of terms he or she may serve.

The term of each new regional director and at-large director shall begin immediately after the adjournment of the annual meeting at which the director is elected.
