The most important event OAPABA held this past year was the NAPABA Western Regional Conference (“WRC”) in Portland, Oregon on June 13-15, 2014. Our objectives were to increase the visibility of OAPABA, to bring APAs from across the region together to foster connections, and to showcase Portland. The conference offered CLEs addressing current and interesting legal issues, including those impacting APA communities, and provided opportunities for networking and socializing among NAPABA members of the Western Region. As a result of OAPABA’s efforts and the assistance from NAPABA, 122 people attended the WRC. The WRC included nine CLE panels, a Judges’ Reception, a Gala Dinner featuring a keynote speech from the Hawaii Attorney General, the Honorable David Louie, and late night social events. Peggy Nagae was awarded the Lynn Nakamoto award. Additional conference events included a plenary lunch featuring Isabella Fu, Associate General Counsel for Microsoft and Plenary Breakfast with Judge Mustafa Kasubhai. Thank you to all of our conference sponsors for their generous contribution.
